About the Pantry

The Glen Ed Pantry is an ecumenical agency governed by a Board of Directors representing 18 different churches within Edwardsville and Glen Carbon. The Glen Ed Pantry was established in 1980. It is staffed by more than 500 volunteers annually, and serves approximately 300 families each month.

The Glen-Ed Pantry service area consists of the communities and areas served by the Edwardsville Community School District #7. Clients must live in the Edwardsville School Districts # 7 in Madison County, Illinois. 

The Glen Ed Pantry's facilities, equipment and food storage are inspected annually by: Madison County Health Department, St. Louis Area Foodbank, Illinois Department of Human Services and United States Department of Agriculture.

The Glen Ed Pantry is funded by: Greater St. Louis United Way, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and local donations of cash, food and supplies.


COVID-19 Precaution: Curbside Service Only
  • We are open our regular hours, but we are offering Curbside Service Only.
  • If you are a current client or a resident of Edwardsville District #7 who needs food due to the current COVID-19 emergency, please call 656-7506 to make an appointment. We will prepare customized bags for you.
  • Those without an appointment will be met at the door and asked to maintain a distance of 6 feet. You can choose to take a prepacked bag of basics, or make an appointment for later.

Needed Items

Thank you for the great outpouring of donations from our community! We are asking for monetary donations at this time. We can use bulk buying power to purchase exactly what we need at better prices to make funds go further, and it will be easier and more efficient to stock large amounts of the same item.

  • December 31 - Jan 1, 2021 - New Year's 

We are also closed for inclement weather whenever District 7 schools are closed.
