About the Pantry

The Glen Ed Pantry is an ecumenical agency governed by a Board of Directors representing 18 different churches within Edwardsville and Glen Carbon. The Glen Ed Pantry was established in 1980. It is staffed by more than 500 volunteers annually, and serves approximately 300 families each month.

The Glen-Ed Pantry service area consists of the communities and areas served by the Edwardsville Community School District #7. Clients must live in the Edwardsville School Districts # 7 in Madison County, Illinois. 

The Glen Ed Pantry's facilities, equipment and food storage are inspected annually by: Madison County Health Department, St. Louis Area Foodbank, Illinois Department of Human Services and United States Department of Agriculture.

The Glen Ed Pantry is funded by: Greater St. Louis United Way, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and local donations of cash, food and supplies.

Operating Hours

  • Monday and Wednesday: 3:00PM - 5:30PM
  • Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 9:00AM - 11:30

We are closed on holidays when District 7 schools are closed, and for inclement weather whenever District 7 schools are closed. 

In 2020, the pantry will be closed for the following holidays:
